Dr. Pita de Oliveira is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, with additional certification as a hematologist from the Brazilian Federal Council of Medicine. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based cancer care with a particular focus on gastrointestinal malignancies, lung cancer, and breast cancer.

Dr. Pita de Oliveira earned his medical degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense in Brazil, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine and Hematology-Hemotherapy at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. He completed additional Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the prestigious University of Colorado.

Dr. Pita de Oliveira's interest in oncology was solidified during his early training in Brazil, where he served in leadership roles including Clinical Director at Instituto de Oncologia e Radioterapia and Assistant Manager of the Blood Bank at the Institute of Biology of the Brazilian Army. 

Throughout his career, Dr. Pita de Oliveira has demonstrated exceptional dedication to clinical research, serving as Principal Investigator on numerous groundbreaking trials. His research portfolio includes studies on novel therapies for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer, HER2-positive breast cancer, and immune checkpoint inhibitor toxicity. His commitment to advancing the field is further evidenced by his completion of specialized courses in drug development, clinical trial design, and medical device development from leading institutions including UC San Diego, Johns Hopkins University, and MIT.

Dr. Pita de Oliveira is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, European Society of Medical Oncology, and the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer. 

Dr. Pita de Oliveira is fluent in English and Portuguese, and when he is not working he enjoys spending time with his kids or playing the bass guitar.
