Dr. Richard Orlowski is a board-certified medical oncologist with over four decades of experience serving the cancer patients of the Hickory community. Since opening his practice in 1983, he has been dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate cancer care, committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered treatment.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University before pursuing his medical education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Orlowski completed both his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Washington University, where he developed a strong foundation in clinical medicine. He then pursued advanced subspecialty training through a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, preparing him to treat the full spectrum of blood disorders and cancers.

For more than 40 years, Dr. Orlowski has been a trusted physician in the Hickory area, building lasting relationships with patients and their families throughout their cancer journeys. His extensive experience spans all areas of medical oncology, and his decades of practice have provided him with invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of cancer treatment. He maintains active privileges at both Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center, ensuring his patients have access to comprehensive hospital-based care when needed.
