Dr. Louay Hanna is a board-certified physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. With years of experience treating patients in western North Carolina, he brings both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the communities he serves, providing compassionate, comprehensive care for a wide range of cancers and benign blood diseases.
He received his medical degree from the University of Damascus in Syria before pursuing advanced training in the United States. Dr. Hanna completed his Internal Medicine residency at Winthrop University Hospital in Long Island, New York, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive patient care. He then pursued subspecialty training through a fellowship in Medical Oncology at Nassau University Medical Center in Long Island, New York, gaining expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of cancer and hematologic conditions.
Before joining the practice, Dr. Hanna served as a medical oncologist and hematologist in Marion, North Carolina, for four years. Dr. Hanna treats a wide variety of cancers and benign blood diseases, offering patients comprehensive care across the spectrum of oncologic and hematologic conditions. He maintains active privileges at both Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center, ensuring his patients have access to comprehensive hospital-based services and advanced treatment options when needed.
