What is your name?

Amy

What is your role at OSC

Financial Counselor

What is your Educational Background?

I graduated from Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC near Greensboro. I obtained my degree in early childhood education and taught pre-school for 12 years.

Why did you choose to work in Healthcare and/or Oncology/Hematology?

One of the after-school teachers that I worked with also worked for a stockbroker. She introduced me to an associate that assisted me in getting licensed to sell accident, health, and life insurance. Following that, I worked for a self-funded insurance company. Then I met a nurse who worked at OSC and still does, and she said they needed a billing person with insurance experience. This is how I’ve come to be part of the OSC Team. In my 4 years, I have been promoted to the position I am in now.

What are your hobbies and interests?

Being outside, pools, reading, family, dogs, traveling, and I really get a thrill going to the casinos.

What makes OSC so special?

We are like family here. I don’t know of any other practice that works as hard for our patients as the OSC Team does.

What advice would you give to a prospective patient who is considering OSC as their oncologist/hematologist?

Bring your insurance card 🙂

What’s on your Nexflix Que?

Lucifer, Criminal Minds, Cobra Kai

If you could have one super-power, what would it be?

Be invisible, so that I wouldn’t have to worry about laundry! LOL!

What is your favorite encouraging or inspiring quote?

“Well behaved women seldom make history”  – Eleanor Roosevelt
