What is your name? Holly, BSN, RN


What is your role at OSC? Infusion Nurse at both office locations. I’ve been
working almost a year and a half now

What is your background? Where from, Education? What is your path working in healthcare? And why did you choose to work in
Oncology? I’m a Carolina Girl, I was born in Columbia SC and I went to Clemson
University where I first obtained my bachelors degree in genetics, but then I went
further to get my nursing degree. My interest in oncology came about from
having seen my parents go through cancer. When I was 4, my mom was
diagnosed with cancer and my dad was diagnosed when I was in high school. I
moved to Charlotte to start my first career job in the stem cell transplant
department at Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute. I worked the night shift and
was interested in an oncology clinic practice. One of the nurses I worked with
gave me OSC’s Clinical Manager, Valarie’s contact information. I reached out to
Valarie and she offered me a position at OSC as an Infusion Nurse

What is something you cannot have enough of? (ie: shoes, throw pillows,
glassware, clothes, jewelry, perfume; for me it’s leggings) Books!!! I buy books
even when I haven’t finished the ones I bought previously. I am fond of
psychological thrillers.

Who is your favorite singer or band? Taylor Swift, she’s definitely quite popular in
today’s pop culture media

What is your favorite cake? Pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting

What movie have you watched multiple times? Love Actually, a romantic comedy

If you were to go to medical school and become a doctor, what type of medical
doctor would you be? An oncologist

Cat or Dog? Love both, but currently I have a cat “Dobby”

What is your New Year’s Resolution(s) or goals for 2024? Not necessarily a
resolution, but a mental check to keep in forethought: Be Happy & Healthy
